- Enroll in Medicare (Parts A and B) – contact Social Security to learn more
- Enroll in a stand-alone Medicare prescription drug plan (Part D)
- Enroll in a Medicare Advantage plan (Part C)
Important Initial Enrollment Notes:
- If you’re already receiving Social Security when you turn 65, you will be automatically enrolled in Original Medicare Part A. We recommend contacting Social Security to make sure that you are enrolled in Part B as well.
- It is important that you enroll in a Part D plan during this Initial Enrollment Period as well. Failure to do so will result in a Late Enrollment Penalty that will follow you the rest of your life.
