Medicare Part A
Medicare Part A is the portion of the Medicare program that covers inpatient hospital care, skilled nursing facility care, hospice care, and home health care. It is sometimes called "hospital insurance."
Part A is available to people who are eligible for Medicare and have worked and paid Medicare taxes for at least 10 years (or 40 quarters) while they or their spouse were employed.

- Inpatient hospital stays, including semi-private rooms, meals, and general nursing care
- Skilled nursing facility care for up to 100 days after a qualifying hospital stay
- Hospice care for people with a terminal illness
- Home health care services, including skilled nursing care, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy
