Medicare Supplements/ Medigap Plans
A Medigap plan, also known as Medicare Supplement Insurance, is a type of private health insurance policy that is designed to help cover the out-of-pocket costs that Original Medicare (Part A and Part B) does not cover.
Medigap plans are offered by private insurance companies and are designed to work alongside Original Medicare. They can help pay for things like deductibles, copayments, and coinsurance that Medicare beneficiaries would otherwise have to pay out of their own pockets.
There are ten standardized Medigap plans available in most states, each labeled with a letter from A to N. Each plan offers a different combination of benefits, so it's important to choose the plan that best meets your individual needs and budget. (Chart Below)
It's worth noting that Medigap plans do not cover prescription drugs. To get prescription drug coverage, you'll need to enroll in a standalone Medicare Part D plan
